Owned by Mike and Rebecca Ross, Dan-Inject Dart Guns is a huge reason why Dogs for Conservation is here today! Mike and Rebecca have used their expertise in the Wildlife field to offer the best products on the market today to zoos, veterinarians and biologists for most of their wildlife capture needs.

Not only has Dan-Inject given Rebecca the opportunity to focus on Dogs for Conservation without making a salary, Dan-Inject Dart Guns has also donated quite a bit of money this past year to help the fledgling organization get started.

My main man Ranger has now had the privilege of being immortalized by Corina St. Martin of Earth Fire Studios in a STUNNING painting that she so generously donated to us! If you go to Corina’s WEBSITE you will see that she has a passion for painting my two favorite things: Wildlife and Pets! Her work is incredibly unique and so colorful! Corina immediately responded to my request for a possible donation of a commissioned piece of one of our dogs…. so not only is she a wonderful artist but obviously a truly compassionate person.

This painting will go a long way as we intend to use it for fundraising purposes and on items we can hopefully start selling by the end of the year!

It is H.O.T. right now in Texas!! This is hard on our dogs and on us!! Our dogs need a way to cool off, and they love to the water to help them do that. We also do some training over water depending on our project needs. I recently reached out to Backcountry K-9 to see if they could help us out with some lifejackets and other gear for our dogs. Jason Booth at Backcountry K-9 was more than happy to help us out, and he just sent us two brand new Ruffwear Lifejackets AND two Ruffwear Swamp Coolers!!! The Swamp Coolers should be a welcome relief in this record breaking heat and drought, and although our dogs can swim, the lifejackets are necessary for safety reasons and pulling dogs into boats.

Happy 5 month Birthday to our dear little Ranger! He has really come an unbelievably long way since we have had him here as a Conservation K9 prospect. All the training and late night playtime sessions are starting to pay off and he has blossomed into a really nice, confident, independent little Golden who has a really great attitude and temperament. He loves everyone he meets and is up for just about any challenge I can throw at him. He has a “golden nose” and knows how to use it on our daily farm strolls! He regularly finds turtles who are laying eggs or heading towards a new pond, and I believe he learned from his copperhead bite as a poor ten week old puppy because he is very cautious of snakes and very VOCAL!

I recently reached out to a few artists around the Nation whose artwork I felt was fantastic in the hopes that perhaps one might be willing to donate a painting that we could use for fundraising and selling products like T-shirts. Micah Jones from Blue Giraffe Art Works in Houston, TX very quickly answered my email with a resounding YES. After some discussions, I gave Micah a photo of a Border Collie belonging to the CenTex Search and Rescue Team that helps Dogs for Conservation regularly with dog training, and she blew us all out the water with a beautiful portrait that will benefit two organizations and great causes.
